Our Response to Covid-19

A message to our clients and employers.

The information and status surrounding COVID-19 is changing on a daily basis. We aim to provide you with the latest information so please check our website regularly for key updates and changes.

We are aware of the ever-changing situation that our clients are faced with and the recruitment challenges that go along with this. We want to assure you that we are here to support you through this challenging and uncertain time.

What are we doing?

  • We are regularly reviewing the situation and changing our strategies and approach depending on the latest Government advice and guidance.

  • Our Business Continuity Plan, enables us to keep our operations running smoothly and accounts for our colleagues having to work from home. We can assure you that our systems are set up to be used remotely so there will be limited impact on key functions.

  • We agree with and follow our individual clients policies and procedures regarding the virus and any suspected cases within the workforce. We will independently assess the situation and ensure that the latest Government advice and guidance is followed whilst limiting the impact on our client business and operations.

  • Following the closure or reduced operation capacity at a client site, where possible, we aim to redeploy colleagues to other client sites.

Following recent advice from the Government we have a number of colleagues working from home or remotely. However we have a high level of trust and confidence in our technology systems to allow us to operate at full capacity and fulfil our client requirements.

We have made a number of changes to our recruitment processes in order to follow the Government guidance. Our recruitment and onboarding systems are robust enough to deal with the whole process so we can limit the amount of face-to-face contact whilst maintaining an efficient system for our candidates and clients.

We have put together FAQs to answer some of the frequent questions we receive from clients – you can read these below.

Priestgate Recruitment Solutions is currently onboarding a large number of candidates on a daily basis so if you are recruiting at the moment and need help filling roles, then please get in touch. We can help you.

Thank you for your continued support.

We've collated some of our frequently asked questions to help you. These will be updated regularly, so please check back for the latest advice.

Q: What is Priestgate Recruitment doing to reduce risk to colleagues and clients?

We are closely following the latest government guidelines, policies and advice relating to COVID-19. We are also following and implementing the specific practices outlined by our clients to ensure all employees are safe and protected.

All of our onsite teams have been briefed on the latest government advice so they are fully prepared and able to deliver key information to colleagues at each of our client sites.

We have ensured that all avenues of communication are open with our colleagues to ensure they can contact us to inform us of any symptoms or ill health that they are experiencing, or anyone in their household.

Q: What is the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme?

It is a scheme that helps employers who are severely affected by the coronavirus and enables you to claim 80% of furloughed employees’ (employees on a leave of absence) usual monthly wage costs, up to £2,500 a month, plus the associated Employer National Insurance contributions and minimum automatic enrolment employer pension contributions on that wage.

Q: Who is covered in the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme?

For an employee to be furloughed they must have been on your PAYE payroll on 28 February 2020, this includes:

  • Full-time employees

  • Part-time employees

  • Agency employees on agency contracts provided they are not working at all

  • Zero-hour contract workers provided that they are employees albeit on flexible contracts.

The government advice and guidance for employers and workers is changing on a regular basis so please check the government website for the latest information, click here.
